Swiss Indoors: Humbert reaches semi-finals

Frenchman Ugo Humbert won against Swiss wildcard Dominic Stricker 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 to move into the semi-finals of the Swiss Indoors at the Halle Saint-Jacques in Basel on Friday afternoon.

Humbert, ranked No 28, will play Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 4 seed, next.

Earlier in the tournament, the Frenchman edged out American Marcos Giron (6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (3)) and defeated Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 7 seed (7-6 (3), 7-6 (4)).

Stricker, ranked No 96, beat Lebanese qualifier Benjamin Hassan (7-6 (2), 6-2) and edged out Norwegian Casper Ruud, the second seed (6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (1)) in the previous rounds of the Basel tournament.
