Italian Lorenzo Musetti won against Frenchman Gregoire Barrere 6-3, 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Stuttgart Open at Tennis Club Weissenhof on Wednesday.
Musetti, ranked No 17, will face the winner of the match between Czech Jiri Lehecka and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the 21-year-old Italian beat Croat qualifier Borna Gojo (7-6 (4), 6-3).
Barrere, ranked No 58, defeated German wildcard Oscar Otte (6-4, 6-3) in the previous round of the Stuttgart tournament.
