Stuttgart Open: Berrettini through his second final of the year

Matteo Berrettini defeated No 5 seed Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-0 to advance to the final of the Stuttgart Open at Tennisclub Weissenhof Stuttgart on Saturday afternoon.

Berrettini, ranked No 95, will play No 6 seed Jack Draper next.

Ahead of his victory, Matteo Berrettini won against Russian Roman Safiullin, the No 8 seed (7-6 (8), 5-7, 7-5), Canadian wildcard Denis Shapovalov (6-4, 6-4) and Australian qualifier James Duckworth (6-4, 7-5).

Musetti, ranked No 30, beat French qualifier Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (7-6 (9), 7-6 (9)), German Dominik Koepfer (6-7 (9), 7-6 (5), 6-3) and Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 3 seed (4-6, 6-1, 1-0 ret.) earlier in the tournament.
