Stuttgart Open: Nakashima into quarter-finals

American Brandon Nakashima reached the quarter-finals of the Stuttgart Open by winning against French lucky loser Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-4 at Tennisclub Weissenhof Stuttgart on Thursday.

Nakashima, ranked No 70, will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech and German Jan-Lennard Struff, the No 7 seed, next.

The 22-year-old American defeated Christopher Eubanks (7-6 (4), 6-4) in the previous round of the Stuttgart tournament.
