Stockholm Open: Griekspoor upends Ruud to reach semi-finals

Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 7 seed, reached the last four of the Stockholm Open by winning against Norwegian Casper Ruud, the second seed, 7-5, 7-6 (5) at the Kungliga Tennishallen on Friday evening.

Griekspoor, ranked No 37, will face the winner of the match between Swiss Dominic Stricker and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 3 seed, next.

Earlier in the tournament, the Dutchman defeated Russian Pavel Kotov (6-4, 6-3) and qualifier Jacob Fearnley (7-6, 6-3).

Ruud, ranked No 8, beat Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-3, 7-6 (3)) in the previous round of the Stockholm tournament.
