Stockholm Open: Dimitrov untroubled by Stricker, races into semi-finals

Grigor Dimitrov defeated Dominic Stricker 6-3, 6-2 on Friday evening and will face Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 7 seed, in the next round

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 3 seed, reached the semi-finals of the Stockholm Open by winning against Swiss Dominic Stricker 6-3, 6-2 at the Kungliga Tennishallen on Friday evening.

Dimitrov, ranked No 10, will play Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 7 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the 33-year-old Bulgarian defeated Frenchman Quentin Halys (7-6 (1), 6-3).

Stricker, ranked No 317, edged out American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-4, 5-7, 6-4) and beat Italian Matteo Berrettini (7-6 (6), 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
