Stockholm Open: Kecmanovic into semi-finals after Ymer retirement
Miomir Kecmanovic benefited from the retirement of Elias Ymer (6-0, 3-2) on Friday afternoon and will play Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov in the next round
Serb Miomir Kecmanovic is through to the semi-finals of the Stockholm Open after Swede wildcard Elias Ymer retired during their quarter-final match.
Kecmanovic, ranked No 53, led 6-0, 3-2 when Ymer, ranked No 168, pulled out at the Kungliga Tennishallen on Friday.
The Serb will face Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov next, with the No 109 on a hot streak this week, having defeat Christopher Eubanks, Lorenzo Sonego and Tallon Griekspoor already en route to the semi-finals
In the previous rounds of the Stockholm tournament, Miomir Kecmanovic defeated Swede wildcard Karl Friberg (6-4, 6-2) and Dane Holger Rune, the top seed (7-6 (3), 6-2).
The Swede won against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut (6-4, 6-4) and Croat qualifier Dino Prizmic (6-3, 3-6, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
