Stockholm Open: De Minaur takes out Shapovalov to reach semi-finals

Australian Alex de Minaur, the No 5 seed, beat Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 4 seed, 6-2, 7-6 (4) to advance to the semi-finals of the Stockholm Open at the Kungliga Tennishallen on Friday.

De Minaur, ranked No 23, will play the winner of the match between Dane Holger Rune, the No 7 seed, and second seed Cameron Norrie next.

In the previous rounds of the Stockholm, the Australian won against Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi (6-3, 6-1) and American J.J. Wolf (6-4, 6-2).

Shapovalov, ranked No 20, defeated Swiss qualifier Antoine Bellier (6-4, 7-5) in the previous round of the Stockholm.
