Britain’s Jack Draper reached his first ATP Tour final by winning against German Jan-Lennard Struff, the No 3 seed, 6-3, 6-4 at the Sofia Open on Friday afternoon.
Draper, ranked No 82, will play the winner of the match between Russian Pavel Kotov and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the second seed, next. Victory in the final would send him back inside the world’s top 50.
Jack Draper beat German Maximilian Marterer (6-3, 6-2), Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the top seed (7-5, 6-2) and wildcard Cem Ilkel (6-2, 6-2) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Struff, ranked No 28, defeated qualifier Billy Harris (7-6 (5), 6-4) and edged out Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-4).
