Sofia Open: Majchrzak reaches quarter-finals, defeating seeded Otte

Pole Kamil Majchrzak edged out German Oscar Otte, the No 8 seed, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Sofia Open at the Arena Armeec Sofia on Thursday.

Majchrzak, ranked No 119, will face the winner of the match between Swiss Marc-Andrea Huesler and Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, the second seed, next.

The Pole won against Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis (7-5, 6-2) in the previous round of the Sofia. Otte, ranked No 55, beat Swede qualifier Dragos Nicolae Madaras (6-3, 6-2).
