Sinner tops ATP money list as 71 men earn $1 million or more
Australia’s Jordan Thompson was the only man to win more than $1 million in both singles and doubles
Not surprisingly, given his win in the ATP Finals, not to mention his two Grand Slam titles, Jannik Sinner topped the money list for 2024, a year in which 71 men earned $1 million or more.
In fact, Sinner was a mile clear at the top of the money list, with his earnings of $16.9 million almost twice as much as Carlos Alcaraz in second. The Spaniard picked up $9.85 million in total, based mostly around his wins at the French Open and Wimbledon, while Alexander Zverev finished with $8.83 million.
The total of 71 millionaires is two more than in 2023. American Taylor Fritz, who reached a first slam final at the US Open and then finished runner-up at the ATP Finals, was fourth, with just over $7 million. Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud, Novak Djokovic, Andrey Rublev, Alex de Minaur and Stefanos Tsitsipas rounded out the top 10.
Australia’s Jordan Thompson, who had the best year of his career to finish the year ranked No 26 in singles and No 3 in doubles (winning the US Open with Max Purcell), had the honour of being the only man to win more than $1 million in both singles and doubles.
Thompson was one of nine men to earn $1 million or more in doubles.
The last of the 71 men to top the $1 million mark was Alexander Shevchenko.
