Sinner gets Indian Wells campaign off to a winning start
Jannik Sinner won against Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-3, 6-0 on Friday evening and will face the winner of the match between German Jan-Lennard Struff, the No 25 seed, and Croat Borna Coric in the next round
Jannik Sinner, the No 3 seed, moved into the third round of the Indian Wells Masters by winning against Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-3, 6-0 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday evening.
The Italian played slick tennis from the get go, making 13 winners to just one unforced error across the match.
Sinner, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between German Jan-Lennard Struff, the No 25 seed, and Croat Borna Coric next.
In the previous round of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters, Kokkinakis, ranked No 99, beat American Marcos Giron (6-3, 7-5).
