Shelton survives scare to advance in Houston
Ben Shelton won against Zizou Bergs 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 on Wednesday night and will face American Brandon Nakashima in the next round

American Ben Shelton, the top seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Houston Open by winning against Belgian Zizou Bergs 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 at River Oaks Country Club on Wednesday night.
This is the 21-year-old’s first-ever ATP Tour quarter-final on clay.
Up next, Shelton, ranked No 16, will play fellow American and NextGen player Brandon Nakashima.
In the previous round of the Houston tournament, Bergs, ranked No 111, beat American qualifier Patrick Kypson (7-6 (5), 6-3).
