Shelton overcomes Thompson in Dallas, sets up Paul showdown
Ben Shelton beat Jordan Thompson in three sets on the indoor hard courts of Dallas on Friday evening. Shelton will face fellow American Tommy Paul, the second seed, in the semifinals.

Ben Shelton, the No 3 seed, edged out Australian Jordan Thompson, the No 7 seed, 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the Dallas Open at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on Friday.
Shelton, ranked No 16, will play second-seeded American Tommy Paul on Saturday.
Ahead of his victory, the 21-year-old American defeated Michael Mmoh (6-3, 6-3).
Thompson, ranked No 44, previously defeated American wild card Adam Neff (6-3, 6-1) and American lucky loser Denis Kudla (6-1, 6-1).
