Shanghai Masters: Tsitsipas beats Hijikata to reach third round

Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 4 seed, won against Australian qualifier Rinky Hijikata 6-4, 6-2 to reach the third round of the Shanghai Masters at the Qi Zhong Stadium on Saturday.

Tsitsipas, ranked No 6 and back with his father as his full-time coach, will face the winner of the match between Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp and Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 32 seed, next.

Hijikata, ranked No 75, beat Serb Laslo Djere (7-6 (4), 7-5) in the previous round of the Shanghai tournament.
