Shanghai Masters: Shelton beats Munar to book spot in third round

American Ben Shelton, the No 19 seed, beat Spaniard Jaume Munar 6-4, 6-4 to reach the third round of the Shanghai Masters at the Qi Zhong Stadium.

Shelton, ranked No 20, will face the winner of the match between Russian Roman Safiullin and German Alexander Zverev, the No 9 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Shanghai tournament, Munar, ranked No 82, won against Chinese wildcard Rigele Te (6-2, 6-4).
