Shanghai Masters: Korda maintains form to reach quarter-finals, plays Sinner or Shelton next
Sebastian Korda won against Francisco Cerundolo 7-5, 7-6 (6) on Tuesday night and will face the winner of the match between Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 6 seed, and American Ben Shelton, the No 19 seed, in the next round
American Sebastian Korda, the No 26 seed, beat Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 20 seed, 7-5, 7-6 (6) to reach the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters at the Qi Zhong Stadium on Tuesday.
Korda, ranked No 26, will face the winner of the match between Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 6 seed, and American Ben Shelton, the No 19 seed, next.
The American won against Chinese wildcard Yunchaokete Bu (6-1, 6-4) and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the second seed (7-6 (8), 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Shanghai tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Cerundolo, ranked No 21, defeated American Mackenzie McDonald (7-6 (4), 7-6 (5)) and edged out Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (3-6, 6-4, 7-5).
