Second final of the year for Kecmanovic, defeats Cecchinato in Estoril
It was a straightforward straight-sets win for Miomir Kecmanovic
Miomir Kecmanovic is into his fourth ATP Tour final, dismissing Marco Cecchinato 6-3, 6-1 in Estoril.
It is his first final on clay since Kitzbuhel in 2020, where he beat Yannick Hanfmann to win his first and thus far only tour-level title.
He continues a sound run of form this year that has already led him to the final in Delray Beach, where he lost in the final to Taylor Fritz.
This semi-final was his second match against the Italian – the last also coming on clay, in Santiago last year, where the Serbian won in straight sets.
He will now play either top seed Casper Ruud or Frenchman Quentin Halys in the final. Halys is one man he has never faced before – but if it turns out to be Ruud he plays, he will have nothing to fear as he has won both his tour-level matches against the Norwegian thus far.
