Alexei Popyrin advanced to the second round of the’s-Hertogenbosch Open by winning against Rinky Hijikata 6-4, 6-4 at the Autotron Rosmalen on Tuesday.

Popyrin, ranked No 49, will play second seed Tommy Paul next.
