Rome Masters: Zhang upsets Shelton to move into last 16

Chinese Zhizhen Zhang advanced to the last 16 of the Rome Masters by defeating American Ben Shelton, the No 12 seed, 6-2, 6-4 at the Foro Italico in Roma on Sunday evening.
Zhang, ranked No 56, will play Brazilian qualifier Thiago Monteiro next.
The Chinese won against Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan (6-2, 7-5) and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 19 seed (6-1, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous round of the Italian Open, Shelton, ranked No 14, edged out Russian Pavel Kotov (4-6, 6-3, 6-4).
