Rome Masters: Tsitsipas moves into quarter-finals, meets Coric next
The Greek beats local favourite Lorenzo Musetti 7-5, 7-5 to move into the last eight
Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 5 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Rome Masters by winning against Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 18 seed, 7-5, 7-5 at the Foro Italico on Tuesday night. The match ended close to 2 AM on Wednesday morning local time.
Tsitsipas, ranked No 5, will play Croat Borna Coric, the No 15 seed, next.
The Greek beat Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-3, 6-3) and Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-3, 7-6 (3)) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Italian Open, Musetti, ranked No 19, defeated wildcard Matteo Arnaldi (6-4, 6-4) and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 12 seed (5-7, 6-4, 6-3).
