Rome Masters: Djere books spot in third round

Serb Laslo Djere reached the third round of the Rome Masters by winning against Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 23 seed, 6-2, 6-4 at the Foro Italico on Friday afternoon.

Djere, ranked No 62, will face the winner of the match between Chilean Cristian Garin and American Tommy Paul, the No 16 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Italian Open, the Serb benefited from a walkover over Frenchman Constant Lestienne, having been leading 6-1.
