Rome Masters: Coric ends run of Alcaraz conqueror Marozsan to set up Tsitsipas clash in quarters
The Crotian scored a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Fabian Marozsan 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 on Tuesday
Croat Borna Coric, the No 15 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Rome Masters by beating Hungarian qualifier Fabian Marozsan 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the Foro Italico on Tuesday evening.
Coric, ranked No 16, will face Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 5 seed, next. The Greek defeated Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 18 seed, in straight sets in another fourth round clash late on Tuesday.
Ahead of his victory, the Croat edged out Brazilian Thiago Monteiro (4-6, 7-6 (8), 7-6 (5)) and won against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (7-6 (3), 6-1).
Marozsan, ranked No 135, won against Frenchman Corentin Moutet (6-0, 6-7 (8), 6-2), Czech Jiri Lehecka, the No 32 seed (4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (4)) and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed (6-3, 7-6 (4)) earlier in the tournament.
