Rio Open: Bellucci loses final ATP match, falling to Baez
Sebastian Baez beat Thomaz Bellucci 6-3, 6-2 on Wednesday night and will face Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas in the next round
Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 6 seed, reached the second round of the Rio Open by beating Brazilian wildcard Thomaz Bellucci 6-3, 6-2 at the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday night.
Bellucci, a former world No 21, played his last match on the ATP Tour. He represented Brazil at three Olympic Games and earned 200 ATP wins and four ATP titles.
Baez, ranked No 35, will face Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas next.
