Rafael Nadal unites Spanish sport to fight coronavirus
Rafael Nadal asks to Spanish sportsmen to help the Red Cross in their fight against the coronavirus.
Rafael Nadal has published two videos on his social networks in which he asks his colleagues to collaborate with the project Red Cross Challenge, in an initiative that has started with his friend and basketball player Pau Gasol. Here are the full transcript of Nadal’s words :
“I’ve been at home for days and I just wanted to find how I might help. I’ve come to the conclusion that you, Spanish people, have always been there for us. I believe that athletes are athletes because of your support, so we have to be there in the present moment. I talked to my friend Pau (Gasol) and we got to the conclusion that it was time to begin this initiative. We believe that world spanish sport will respond too. We want to help the Reply Red Cross Challenge, which is supplying medical provides, hospital infrastructures, to the most susceptible households. The goal is to get 11 million euros to assist 1,340,000 people. We believe that each Spanish sports activities come collectively and assist the initiative to achieve this goal. Pau and I have already made our donation and we believe that it is going to be our most beautiful win.”
