American Frances Tiafoe, the No 4 seed, beat Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp 6-2, 6-4 to reach the second round of the cinch Championships at Queen’s Club in London on Tuesday.
Tiafoe, ranked No 10 and the winner of last week’s event in Stuttgart, will play American Sebastian Korda next.
