Thompson upsets Fritz to make semi-finals at Queen’s

Australian Jordan Thompson won against American Taylor Fritz, the No 4 seed, 6-4, 6-3 to reach the semi-finals of the cinch Championships at Queen’s Club in London on Friday.
Thompson, ranked No 43, will face the winner of the match between wildcard Billy Harris and Italian Lorenzo Musetti next.
Ahead of his victory, the Australian beat Dane Holger Rune, the No 7 seed (4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3) and wildcard Andy Murray (4-1 ret.).
Fritz, ranked No 12, defeated Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel (6-3, 6-3) and Canadian Milos Raonic (7-6 (5), 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
