Paul ends Draper’s hopes to reach semi-finals at Queen’s

American Tommy Paul, the No 5 seed, edged out Jack Draper 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 to advance to the semi-finals of the cinch Championships at Queen’s Club in London on Friday.
Draper had taken out the defending champion and top seed Carlos Alcaraz in the previous round but was pipped by Paul, thanks to one break in the final set.
Paul, ranked No 13, will play the winner of the match between American Sebastian Korda and Australian qualifier Rinky Hijikata next.
Ahead of his victory, the American won against Argentinian Sebastian Baez (6-4, 6-4) and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo (6-3, 6-4).
Draper, ranked No 31, defeated Argentinian Mariano Navone (6-3, 6-2) and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed (7-6 (3), 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Queen’s tournament.
