Queen’s Club: Musetti beats Thompson to reach first grass final

Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti defeated Australian Jordan Thompson 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to move into the final of the cinch Championships at Queen’s Club in London on Saturday.
Musetti, ranked No 30, will face the winner of the match between No 5 seed Tommy Paul and Sebastian Korda next.
This will be Musetti’s third ATP Tour singles final, and the first on grass, in his career.
The 22-year-old Italian won against Australian Alex De Minaur, the second seed (1-6, 6-4, 6-2), American Brandon Nakashima (6-4, 4-6, 6-4) and wildcard Billy Harris (6-3, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the tournament.
Earlier in the week, Thompson, ranked No 43, beat Dane Holger Rune, the No 7 seed (4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3), wildcard Andy Murray (4-1 ret.) and American Taylor Fritz, the No 4 seed (6-4, 6-3).
