Queen’s: Dimitrov outclasses Cerundolo to set up last eight meeting with Alcaraz
Grigor Dimitrov won against Francisco Cerundolo 6-3, 7-5 and will face Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, in the next round
Bulgarian qualifier Grigor Dimitrov defeated Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 8 seed, 6-3, 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals of the Queen’s at Queen’s Club in London.
Dimitrov, ranked No 26, will play Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, next in what should be a stern test of both their grass-court credentials.
The Bulgarian won against Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (6-2, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Queen’s Championships, Cerundolo, ranked No 19, edged out American qualifier Tommy Paul (7-6 (2), 4-6, 6-4).
