Portuguese Open: Halys misses out on final

Norwegian Casper Ruud, the top seed, moved into the final of the Portuguese Open by edging out Frenchman Quentin Halys 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (2) at Clube de Ténis do Estoril on Saturday evening.
Ruud, ranked No 5, will face Serb Miomir Kecmanovic, the No 6 seed, next.
The Norwegian won against Portuguese wildcard João Sousa (4-6, 6-2, 6-2) and Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 5 seed (6-3, 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Estoril Open, Halys, ranked No 80, beat Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-3, 6-4), Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 4 seed (7-6 (5), 7-5) and Austrian Dominic Thiem (6-1, 6-4).
