Portuguese Open: Davidovich Fokina beats 18-year-old Van Assche, plays Cecchinato in last eight
The third seed beat Luca Van Assche 6-3, 7-5 on Wednesday to move into the quarter-finals

Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 3 seed, won against 18-year-old French teen Luca Van Assche 6-3, 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Open at Clube de Ténis do Estoril on Wednesday.
Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 24, will play Marco Cecchinato next.
Van Assche, ranked No 91 in the world, beat Portuguese qualifier Pedro Sousa (6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-1) in the previous round of the Estoril Open while Fokina received a first round bye.
