Paris Masters: Rublev cruises into quarter-finals
Andrey Rublev won against Botic van de Zandschulp 6-3, 6-3 on Thursday afternoon and will face the winner of the match between Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 4 seed, and Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 13 seed, in the next round
Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of Paris Masters by winning against Dutch qualifier Botic van de Zandschulp 6-3, 6-3 at the Accor Arena on Thursday afternoon.
Rublev, ranked No 5, will play the winner of the match between Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 4 seed, and Australian Alex de Minaur, the No 13 seed, next.
The Russian beat Japanese qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka (6-4, 6-3) in the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Van De Zandschulp, ranked No 60, won against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino (6-4, 7-5) and American Tommy Paul, the No 12 seed (6-4, 2-6, 6-3).
