Paris Masters: Paul reaches second round by edging Gasquet in late-night epic
Tommy Paul edged out Richard Gasquet 0-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6) on Monday evening. He’ll face Dutch qualifier Botic van de Zandschulp in the next round

American Tommy Paul, the No 12 seed, reached the second round of Paris Masters by edging out French wild card Richard Gasquet 0-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6) at the Accor Arena on Monday evening.
Paul, ranked No 12, will play Dutch qualifier Botic van de Zandschulp next.
This was Gasquet’s 16th appearance in Paris, having made his debut in 2003.
Paul, however, has now won his opening match in the last 15 hardcourt Masters 1000 tournaments.
