Paris Masters: Khachanov advances to last 16

Russian Karen Khachanov moved into the last 16 of Paris Masters by edging out French wildcard Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 6-7 (12), 6-1, 6-4 at the Accor Arena on Wednesday.

Khachanov, ranked No 21, will play Australian Alexei Popyrin next.

The Russian edged out Australian lucky loser Christopher O’Connell (6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (6)) in the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament.

In the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament, Mpetshi Perricard, ranked No 31, defeated American Frances Tiafoe, the No 14 seed (6-7 (5), 7-6 (4), 6-3).
