Alert – Paris Masters: Humbert reaches final
The Frenchman delighted the home crowd, coming back from a set down
Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 15 seed, advanced to the final of Paris Masters by winning against Russian Karen Khachanov 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-3 at the Accor Arena on Saturday evening.
Humbert, ranked No 18, will play German Alexander Zverev, the No 3 seed, next.
In the previous rounds of the Paris-Bercy tournament, the Frenchman defeated American Brandon Nakashima (6-3, 4-6, 6-4), American qualifier Marcos Giron (6-3, 6-2), Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed (6-1, 3-6, 7-5) and Australian Jordan Thompson (6-2, 7-6 (4)).
Khachanov, ranked No 21, won against Australian lucky loser Christopher O’Connell (6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (6)), French wildcard Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (6-7 (12), 6-1, 6-4), Australian Alexei Popyrin (7-6 (5), 6-4) and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 8 seed (6-2, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
