Paris Masters: Giron moves into second round

American Marcos Giron won the battle of the qualifiers as he beat China’s Juncheng Shang 7-6 (6), 7-6 (6) to advance to the second round of Paris Masters at the Accor Arena on Monday afternoon.

Giron, ranked No 49, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 15 seed, and American Brandon Nakashima next.
