Paris Masters: De Minaur fights back from set down to beat Lajovic and last 16 reach
De Minaur edged out Dusan Lajovic 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 and will face the winner of the match between Jannik Sinner and Mackenzie McDonald in the next round
Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 13 seed, edged out Serb lucky loser Dusan Lajovic 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the last 16 of Paris Masters at the Accor Arena.
The Australian initially looked to be in a spot of bother as the solid Serbian put in a clinical display to take advantage of the chances he was given and nudge into a one-set lead.
Lajovic fought valiantly until the end of the match, but the trademark athleticism and speed of his opponent made the difference in the final two sets, as De Minaur produced an impressive comeback to reach the last 16 in Paris.
De Minaur, ranked No 13, will play the winner of the match between Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 4 seed, and American Mackenzie McDonald next.
In the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament, the Australian edged out Andy Murray (7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-5).
Lajovic, ranked No 48, beat French wildcard Benjamin Bonzi (7-5, 6-3) in the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament.
