Paris Masters: Bublik edges past Jarry to reach last 16
Alexander Bublik beat Nicolas Jarry 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3). He’ll face the winner of the match between Grigor Dimitrov and Daniil Medvedev in the next round
Kazakh Alexander Bublik moved into the last 16 of Paris Masters by beating Chilean Nicolas Jarry 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3) at the Accor Arena.
Bublik, ranked No 33, will play the winner of the match between Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, next.
The Kazakh won against American Frances Tiafoe, the No 14 seed (6-3, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament, Jarry, ranked No 20, won against Australian Alexei Popyrin (7-5, 7-6 (6)).
