Alexander Zverev edged out Alex Molcan 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 and will face Brazilian Thiago Monteiro in the next round

German Alexander Zverev, the No 5 seed, reached the second round of the Nordea Open by edging out Slovak Alex Molcan 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad.
Zverev, ranked No 19, will face Brazilian Thiago Monteiro next.
