Argentinian Thiago Agustin Tirante reached the second round of the Nordea Open by edging out Portuguese qualifier Jaime Faria 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 at the Båstads tennisstadion.
Tirante, ranked No 121, will play top seed Andrey Rublev next.
