Austrian Dominic Thiem advanced to the last 8 of the Nordea Open by edging out Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 4 seed, 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-4 at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad on Thursday.
Thiem, ranked No 339, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 8 seed, and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina next.
Ahead of his victory, the Austrian edged out Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (5)).
