Nordea Open: Ruud into fourth semi-final of 2023, beats Ofner in straight sets
Casper Ruud beat Sebastian Ofner 6-3, 6-4 on Friday afternoon. He’ll play Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 3 seed, in the next round
Norwegian Casper Ruud, the top seed, reached the last four of the Nordea Open by defeating Austrian Sebastian Ofner 6-3, 6-4 at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad on Friday.
Ruud now has a 19-6 record on clay this year.
“It was another tricky day in the wind here in Bastad,” Ruud said afterwards. “I am very happy to be through in two sets and of course when it is windy, it is tough to feel that you are playing great all the time. But it was good enough, steady enough.”
