Nordea Open: Basilashvili retires, Gaston makes second round against Karatsev

Frenchman Hugo Gaston advanced to the second round of the Nordea Open when Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, the No 6 seed, retired at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad on Tuesday.
Gaston, ranked No 58, led 7-6 (6), 3-0 when Basilashvili, ranked No 25, pulled out on Tuesday afternoon at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad.
The 21-year-old Frenchman will face Russian Aslan Karatsev next.
