Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo advanced to the last eight of the Nordea Open by edging out Norwegian Casper Ruud, the top seed, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad on Wednesday afternoon.
Cerundolo, ranked No 39, will face the winner of the match between Russian Aslan Karatsev and Frenchman Hugo Gaston next.
Ahead of his victory, the Argentinian won against Portuguese qualifier Pedro Sousa (6-4, 6-3).
