Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena moved into the second round of the Nordea Open by winning against Russian Roman Safiullin, the No 6 seed, 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-3 at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad on Tuesday.
Carballes Baena, ranked No 54, will face the winner of the match between Kazakh qualifier Denis Yevseyev and Frenchman Alexandre Muller next.
