Nordea Open: Baez advances to quarter-finals over Davidovich Fokina

Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 8 seed, defeated Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-2, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the Nordea Open at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad on Thursday evening.
Baez, ranked No 34, will play Austrian Dominic Thiem next.
The 21-year-old Argentinian won against Italian lucky loser Fabio Fognini (6-3, 6-4) ahead of his victory. Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 36, won against Portuguese João Sousa (6-4, 6-2).
