Nordea Open: Qualifier Ajdukovic beats Monteiro to continue fine run and make last four

Croat qualifier Duje Ajdukovic advanced to the semi-finals of the Nordea Open by edging out Brazilian Thiago Monteiro 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 at the Båstads tennisstadion.
Ajdukovic, ranked No 130, will play the winner of the match between Spanish wildcard Rafael Nadal and Argentinian Mariano Navone, the No 4 seed, next.
The Croat won against Frenchman Luca Van Assche (6-3, 6-3) and Russian Pavel Kotov, the No 8 seed (7-6 (7), 3-6, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Swedish Open, Monteiro, ranked No 85, beat Argentinian Federico Coria (6-1, 6-3) and Norwegian Casper Ruud, the second seed (6-3, 6-3).
