Defending champion Novak Djokovic’s withdrawal from the 2024 ATP Finals meant Norwegian Casper Ruud, Australian Alex de Minaur, and Russian Andrey Rublev completed the eight-man field for the year-end championships.

On Tuesday (November 5), Djokovic, sitting sixth in the Race to Turin, announced his decision to skip the ATP Finals due to an injury.

With Djokovic occupying the sixth position, Ruud, De Minaur, and Rublev remained in a tussle for the remaining qualification spots, fighting it out in Metz and Belgrade. However, the Serbian’s move had a direct bearing on the qualification race as it cleared the way for the Norwegian, the Aussie, and the Russian to secure the remaining three spots.

Below listed are the men set to fight for the 2024 ATP Finals glory:

  1. Jannik Sinner
  2. Alexander Zverev
  3. Carlos Alcaraz
  4. Daniil Medvedev
  5. Taylor Fritz
  6. Casper Ruud
  7. Alex de Minaur
  8. Andrey Rublev

Alternates: Grigor Dimitrov and Stefanos Tsitsipas

De Minaur will make his ATP Finals debut, Casper Ruud returns after missing the event in 2023

It will be Alex de Minaur’s debut at the ATP Finals this year. The Aussie has accumulated a total of 3,745 points in the Race to Turin thus far. He is set to become the first Australian to play in the season-ending final after his compatriot Lleyton Hewitt did it 20 years ago in 2004.

For Casper Ruud, this will be a third appearance at the ATP Finals, having ended the 2022 and 2021 editions as runner-up and semi-finalist, respectively.

Andrey Rublev has qualified for the final event of the calendar fifth time in a row. He first fought for the coveted title in 2020 but failed to make it past the group stages. The 2021 ATP Finals brought the Russian similar fortunes but he played as far as the semi-finals in 2022. Last year, the 27-year-old exited the contention from the round-robin stage.
