Alert: Jannik Sinner defeats Hubert Hurkacz on his ATP Finals debut
The 20-year-old ATP Finals debutant lifted spirits of Italian tennis fans by topping Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

The Italian keeps alive his chance of semi-final qualification with his victory. If he finishes group play with a 2-0 record and Hubert Hurkacz defeats Alexander Zverev on Thursday, the 20-year-old will reach the last four.
Sinner becomes the youngest player to win on his ATP Finals debut since 2000, when Lleyton Hewitt defeated Pete Sampras.
